چکیده

Generic health-related quality of life (HRQoL) instruments, such as EQ-5D, are important tools in economic evaluations for measuring disease burden and generating quality-adjusted years (QALYs). Our goal was to compare measurement properties two versions this instrument, the EQ-5D-3L (3L) EQ-5D-5L (5L) atopic dermatitis (AD). We conducted a multicentre cross-sectional survey Hungary, involving 218 adult AD patients with mild severe disease. The 3L 5L demonstrated good agreement an intraclass correlation coefficient 0.815 (95%CI 0.758-0.859, p<0.001). ceiling effect reduced by 4.6-11.5% mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort dimensions compared 3L. In 5L, 84 unique health state profiles occurred, while only 33 Average relative informativity higher version (Shannon’s evenness index: 0.64 vs. 0.59) it better convergent validity EQ VAS, DLQI, Skindex-16. Both were similarly able distinguish among groups based on severity skin-specific HRQoL moderate or large size (η2=0.083-0.489). To sum up, performed than terms effect, informativity, validity, thus we recommend use outcomes calculating QALYs AD.

Interim scoring for the EQ-5D-5L: mapping the EQ-5D-5L to EQ-5D-3L value sets.

BACKGROUND A five-level version of the EuroQol five-dimensional (EQ-5D) descriptive system (EQ-5D-5L) has been developed, but value sets based on preferences directly elicited from representative general population samples are not yet available. The objective of this study was to develop values sets for the EQ-5D-5L by means of a mapping ("crosswalk") approach to the currently available three-l...

Comparing the performance of the EQ-5D-3L and the EQ-5D-5L in young Portuguese adults

BACKGROUND Some studies have reported a ceiling effect in EQ-5D-3L, especially in healthy and/or young individuals. Recently, two further levels have been included in its measurement model (EQ-5D-5L). The purposes of this study were (1) to assess the properties of the EQ-5D-5L in comparison with the standard EQ-5D-3L in a sample of young adults, (2) to foreground the importance of collecting qu...

Measurement properties of the EQ-5D-5L compared to EQ-5D-3L in the Thai diabetes patients

BACKGROUND The EQ-5D is a health-related quality of life instrument which provides a simple descriptive health profile and a single index value for health status. The latest version, the EQ-5D-5L, has been translated into more than one hundred languages worldwide - including Thai. This study aims to assess the measurement properties of the Thai version of the EQ-5D-5L (the 5L) compared to the E...

An application to the use of EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-5L in evaluating drug therapies for rheumatic disease

EQ-5D is used in cost-effectiveness studies underlying many important health policy decisions. It comprises a survey instrument generating a description of health states across five domains, and a system of utility values for each state. The original 3-level version of EQ-5D is being replaced with a more sensitive 5-level version but little is known about the consequences of this change. We dev...

The EQ-5D-5L is More Discriminative Than the EQ-5D-3L in Patients with Diabetes in Singapore.

OBJECTIVES To compare the discriminative power of the five-level version of the EuroQol five-dimensional questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L [5L]) and its three-level version (EQ-5D-3L [3L]) in patients with diabetes in Singapore. METHODS A consecutive sample of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) self-completed the two versions of the EQ-5D in the clinic. The 3L index score was calculated from...
